I've been waiting (for a gull like you) is my sense of humor taking flight. (Sorry.) It's of course a take off of the old song "I've Been Waiting" (for a girl like you) by Foreigner. It strikes me that the gulls look so impatient and ready to be fed morsels on the beach when I'm trying to soak up the sun and read my book.
I am a full-time working artist, and it is an absolute joy to paint! I’m hooked on vibrant color and bold, sweeping, dynamic brush and palette knife strokes. I try to bring passion, drama, and energy to a painting so that it catches your eye from across the room. I personally enjoy contemporary semi-abstract painting, as it allows for immense freedom and imagination. I think of painting as part painting and part sculpting. The textures can play as strong a role as the colors in the creative process. I often mix in techniques like dripping, layering, cracking, and scraping in my paintings.
