Artist's Description
Part of a quad series I painted titled the 4 Faces of Marilyn. It was to be my own colorful rendition of Warhol's Marilyn paintings. Marilyn had so many different looks in her movies that I decided to paint different versions of her. She was by all accounts a beautiful woman, tortured by her sex symbol fame which unfortunately over-shadowed her talent as an actress. As an artist, I find her beyond captivating.

I am a full-time working artist, and it is an absolute joy to paint! I’m hooked on vibrant color and bold, sweeping, dynamic brush and palette knife strokes. I try to bring passion, drama, and energy to a painting so that it catches your eye from across the room. I personally enjoy contemporary semi-abstract painting, as it allows for immense freedom and imagination. I think of painting as part painting and part sculpting.
