I intended to title it “Songbirds” as inspired by the beautiful Fleetwood Mac ballad. Then as I was painting it, eerily I read Christine McVie, co-lead singer / songwriter for FM, passed away at age 79. What an amazing talent she was. And one of the great tunes written by McVie? Yep…”Songbird”.
I am a full-time working artist, and it is an absolute joy to paint! Im hooked on vibrant color and bold, sweeping, dynamic brush and palette knife strokes. I try to bring passion, drama, and energy to a painting so that it catches your eye from across the room. I personally enjoy contemporary semi-abstract painting, as it allows for immense freedom and imagination. I think of painting as part painting and part sculpting. The textures can play as strong a role as the colors in the creative process. I often mix in techniques like dripping, layering, cracking, and scraping in my paintings.
