My abstract version of Leonardo's very precise sketch of The Vitruvian Man from around 1490. Over 500 years later and we are still in awe of Leonardo's vast intellect and artistic talent. Vitruvius was the Roman architect whose notes were used by Leo to create his famously proportioned sketch. My version, by choice, is less precise.
I am a full-time working artist, and it is an absolute joy to paint! I’m hooked on vibrant color and bold, sweeping, dynamic brush and palette knife strokes. I try to bring passion, drama, and energy to a painting so that it catches your eye from across the room. I personally enjoy contemporary semi-abstract painting, as it allows for immense freedom and imagination. I think of painting as part painting and part sculpting. The textures can play as strong a role as the colors in the creative process. I often mix in techniques like dripping, layering, cracking, and scraping in my paintings.
